Point Loma

Known as “Hill Point” in Spanish, Point Loma is a seaside peninsula community rich in culture and history. It is historically known as the landing place for the first European expedition to come ashore in California and the area encompasses the Cabrillo National Monument to commemorate that momentous time in history. Within the surrounding area, Point Loma contains 2 major military bases and the Old Point Loma Lighthouse, which now serves as a museum. Point Loma also contains the oldest reconstruction of an ancient Greek theater in the United States created by the Theosophical Society, which now hosts several events throughout the year. Point Loma is also a bustling town with the San Diego Yacht Club and its daily sport fishing and whale watching in the marina, containing wonderful fish eateries. It is also home to stylish bars, trendy restaurants, gourmet eateries and markets, boutiques, and art and community musical events at the Arts District Liberty Station. Point Loma is a laid back suburban community comprised mostly of single-family homes with breathtaking ocean and bay views. Sunset Cliffs is a renown park with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and stunning cliff rock formations.
